New award for Maire Technimont in oil & gas busines in Italy

A Letter Of Intent (LOI) for the implementation of the Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Construction and Commissioning of the oil and gas treatment "Tempa Rossa" was awarded to a Project Association between Tecnimont S.p.A. and Tecnimont KT S.p.A. – both subsidiaries of Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. - by Total E&P Italia S.p.A., Italian subsidiary of Total Group. The engineering work will commence on May 14th 2012.
The signature of the contract with the full release of Contractor’s scope of work is expected soon when all authorizations have been obtained by the Client. The overall contract value will be approximately €500 million.
The scope of the contract is the main part of the “Tempa Rossa oil field“ development project located in proximity of Corleto Perticara in Potenza Province, Basilicata Region, Italy. The contract includes the central process facilities of the oil center where 50,000 barrels per day (BOPD) of crude oil are treated and stabilized and the treatment of the associated gas and water, the LPG storage center, the surface facilities on the well pads, the connections of the flowlines and pipelines with Snam Rete Gas and with Taranto Refinery pipeline.
The execution of the work will comply with the most severe requirements in terms of Health Safety and Environment for a facility of this nature in Italy.
With this step after the milestone of GASCO Habshan-5 Project Maire Tecnimont will strengthen his presence in the oil & gas business through this important project in Italy.
