Technology, engineering and project management company Neste Jacobs has delivered a new emissions recovery system at the harbor of Neste Oil Porvoo Refinery. Ville Niinistö, Finland's Minister of the Environment, officiated at the opening ceremony at the harbor of Porvoo refinery 31st January, 2014.

The new system is capable of recovering up to 70% of the volatile organic compounds (VOC) released into the atmosphere when loading gasoline. Costing around EUR 26 million and built during the last two years, the system represents a major environmental investment in Finland.

"We are happy to be part of this major investment as it supports our strategy to be the preferred solution provider for hydrocarbon industries also from the environmental perspective", says Jarmo Suominen, the Managing Director of Neste Jacobs. "In addition to the reduced emissions, the new system will also provide a cleaner working environment for harbor personnel, which is naturally very important as well.
