On behalf of the Peregrino licence partners, Statoil has awarded Wood Group a contract to provide operations and maintenance for two wellhead platforms (Alpha and Bravo) and modification services for both units and the Peregrino Floating Production Storage and Offloading facility, in Brazil.
Under the four year contract, Wood Group PSN will deliver offshore services and all production processes and equipment, except drilling services. The contract introduces a new operating model for the field; for the first time Statoil is bundling these services into one single contract in order to boost integration and simplify the contract management.
Pål Eitrheim, senior vice president for development, production, international South America and Brazil country manager, said: “We have decided to group these contracts in line with our corporate strategy of simplification, cost optimisation and production efficiency. We have been working closely with Wood Group in the Peregrino field and we look forward to strengthening our partnership over the next four years.”
Wood Group has been operating the two wellhead platforms since 2009 and has supported the Peregrino project throughout its development.
John Glithero, president – Americas, Wood Group PSN: “This contract win builds on Wood Group’s 20-year relationship with Statoil globally and demonstrates the wide breadth of services and capabilities offered across our business.
“We look forward to continuing our long–term relationship with Statoil in Brazil and to delivering simple, cost-effective and efficient solutions to maximise the productivity of the Peregrino field.”
